Pita bread is usually 5 to 6 inches across and just under a quarter inch thick. You can usually open a pita by cutting it in half and make two pockets out of it and put the filling in the pockets, but not all pita bread puffs while they're baked. But Pita Bread as flat bread can also be rolled up with the fillings inside. They can be used for PITA SANDWICHES and SHAWARMA. Tortillas can be made from flour and can be as small as 4" or as large as 14". A tortilla is very flat (you can see light through it) and it can be rolled up with the fillings inside. They are usually used for BURRITOS, QUESADILLAS and here in the Philippines we can see them being used for SHAWARMA. |
