Rockpoint Resort in Calamba, Laguna is a hotspring resort, spa and conference center all rolled into one. It has been operating since 1995 and offers varied guest room accommodations and dining facilities. It has served hundreds of satisfied customers - from couples spending a relaxing weekend, to companies having their team-building sessions or out-of-town seminars. Although it is relatively a small resort compared to the mostly public swimming pool resorts in the area, its is best known in the industry for its friendly and personalized service (check out the testimonials from the official website). This, and the affordable rates of rooms and the delicious, home-cooked food make it a favorite destination for weekend revelers from the city. The price is actually comparable to an economy resort but surprisingly, the facilities are adequate and guest-friendly. People who frequent the resort say the warm and cozy ambience makes them come back. It’s like being in a rest house but you get resort facilities and service without the steep price. It feels a lot like home, very comfortable yet still very private even if it passes as a semi-public resort. There's not much of a crowd here, unlike most public resorts - the maximum capacity is only 100 persons but even with a full capacity, it is not crowded. And of course, it’s very secured with their 24-hour security service. Take note: It's not a fancy place (don’t expect Shangri-la accommodations) but considering the cheap rates (overnight stay in standard room is only P1,700 good for 2 already and comes with complimentary breakfast, free wi-fi access and free use of hotspring swimming pools) it’s well worth it. SULIT! There are several recreation facilities to keep you busy and entertained - the hotspring swimming pools, the karaoke lounge, the restaurant (with room service facilities), game room (with table tennis, billiard and darts) and of course, Kalipayna Spa. These should keep you busy for the day. The spa is very unique, with its Filipiniana-inspired theme. Getting a full body massage, a foot spa or just a relaxing shoulder and back massage is the best way to enjoy simple pleasures. And it wouldn’t even cause a dent in ones budget.
